A collection of links to sites that I have found either informative, enjoyable, inspirational or, in some cases all three. If you know of any you think should (or shouldn't) be here please tell me.
- Bike Logs Personal Cycling Log - A pet project that I started after getting frustrated with spreadsheets. It has many special features (it produces the route profiles and google maps used on this site), but mostly it helps motivate me to do more. It's free, why not give it a go?
- Cycle Chat Cycling Forum - A lively and friendly cycling forum with a growing membership and a lot of touring expertise. There is an alternate link (cycle-cafe.net) if you find the site blocked at work.
- Cyclogs - An online bike ride logging tool similar to Bike Logs with the advantage (and disadvantage) of being web-based. The main advantage is a leader-board that you can try and top each month.
- Cycletourer Web Site - Loads of really useful cycle touring information with extensive travelogues covering most of northern Europe as well as some really good generic touring guidance.
- GPSies or Bikely - Really useful site that allows you create or upload your own route or search for similar routes from other people. Routes can be downloaded (complete with elevation data) for use on a GPS.
- Trento Bike Pages - A really good site if you are looking for a web site or blog about a trip in an area you are planning to tour. You can search for tours by country, author and date. My trips are listed here.
- Lonebiker Web - Anyone who takes the trouble to do a web-site in a second language deserves praise, but Erik's site is funny and his exploits are awesome! I especially like his take on the English and our roads.
- Michiel Erens Iceland Pages - Michiel's site is a comprehensive source of information on all things Icelandic, if you don't find what you want on his site you probably will on his extensive links page.
- Sheldon Brown's Bicycle Technical Info - Sadly the great man passed away on the 3rd Feb 2008, but his web site still contains all the technical info you'll probably ever need on cycles and cycling. R.I.P. Sheldon our thoughts are with your family and friends.
- The Ultimate Links List of Land's End to John O'Groats Cycle Trips - The most extensive list of links to web sites about Land's End to John O'Groats cycling trips on the net. This site's JOGLE is number 254 on their list.
- MX Guarddog - junk email filter and virus protection for businesses, organizations, and Internet domain name owners. Filters incoming email, forwarding only clean email to your mailboxes; free in return for a link like this one. Not strictly a cycling link, but needs must!
